Welcome back to MOB News. Today is Monday April 29th. I am late in addressing a couple things.
Firstly, we released another solo video on Friday. The song is a rendition of Angel from Montgomery, a John Prine song. Adri did a great job on the video, again. These past two videos are the first that she has filmed and edited herself and they have both been really really great. I was surprised to hear from some folks at the Saturday show that they had seen the YouTube video, and after arriving home, we found out that in the first 48 hours it had almost 200 views. Being one of our more successful contributions to YouTube.
Saturday was a solo show at Patterson Cellars in Leavenworth. It really is a great spot to stop and sip wine after spending the day walking around in Little Bavaria. They feature music every Friday and Saturday at the perfect after-dinner time. One thing that I enjoyed about this show was that the crowd seemed to appreciate some blues songs in the second set, especially the more show-offy guitarry ones. It isn’t often that people cheer after the guitar solo in a solo acoustic show. Or maybe it is, I’ll go see one of Nick Mardon’s and let you know.
If you haven’t been to see one of the Laser Dome shows at the Seattle Science Center, I would recommend it. Adri and I went for the first time on Sunday and saw the Daft Punk show. It was well worth the $15 ticket. The show is about an hour long. I’m not an electronic music connoisseur, but the laser show seemed perfect for Daft Punk, and I ended up enjoying the music more than I ever have before. Without seeing it, I’m sure their Pink Floyd show would be a good fit as well. The music can be a little loud so bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to that sort of thing.
Fun little news bit: We bought a Ukulele Bass and it arrived on Friday. The thing is so much fun to use and play. It looks and feels like a toy but it sounds like a real instrument. I can’t wait for the excuse to use it for some shows.
Also: Made a Link Tree. It should make it easier to access the different ways to access us.
